Henderson, Tennessee – (Aug. 20, 2024) – Six Freed-Hardeman University (FHU) accounting students have been awarded a total of $7,750 in scholarships from the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA), the highest number of recipients in a single year for FHU. These awards, representing 40% of those given within the West Tennessee chapter’s jurisdiction, include the district’s top honor presented to BBA/MBA accounting student Elizabeth McKeeby.

Henderson, Tennessee — (Aug. 15, 2024) — Freed-Hardeman University is honoring the legacy of a long-serving member of its College of Business faculty by establishing an endowed chair in his name. The Dr. Bobby Bush Endowed Chair for Excellence in Business commemorates Bush’s distinguished 25-year tenure (1976-2001) as a professor of business at the university.

Henderson, Tennessee – (Aug. 9, 2024) – At the heart of Freed-Hardeman University’s campus, a 48-year-old auditorium is set to receive not only a new life but also a new name. Previously known as Loyd Auditorium, the beloved venue will officially become the David Thomas Dryden Auditorium when it reopens in 2025. The building is currently undergoing major renovations made possible by gifts from many FHU alumni including the Dryden family.

Henderson, Tennessee – (Aug. 7, 2024) – Freed-Hardeman University’s Center of Excellence in Spiritual Leadership (CESL) will host a Church Leadership Workshop at Mid-South Youth Camp in Henderson, Tennessee, September 27-28. Designed as a retreat for individual church leaders or a team of church leaders, this workshop aims to enrich, encourage and inspire its participants using the theme of “Purpose, Planning and Prayer.” 

Henderson, Tennessee – (August 2, 2024) – Get ready for a night of laughter and mystery as Freed-Hardeman University (FHU) brings “Ken Ludwig’s Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery” to the stage. Directed by Kevin Record, this year’s show features a talented ensemble of FHU alumni, friends and Chester County locals. The performances are set for Thursday through Saturday, August 15-17, 2024,  in the Black Box Theatre.

Henderson, Tennessee – (July 25, 2024) – Freed-Hardeman University’s golf program invites golfers and sponsors to tee off for the 2024 Annual Golf Scramble at the Chickasaw Golf Course in Henderson, Tennessee, Saturday, September 28, at 9 a.m. For each four-person team, a $500 entry fee will cover green fees, a cart, a catered lunch, tee gifts and prizes.  

Henderson, Tennessee – (July 12, 2024) – For the sixth consecutive year, Freed-Hardeman University nursing students from the Henderson cohort have achieved a 100% first-time pass rate for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). FHU’s full nursing program has consistently achieved pass rates above the national average since 2019.
