FHU Accounting Students Awarded Scholarships by the Tennessee Society of CPAs

Henderson, Tennessee – (Aug. 20, 2024) – Six Freed-Hardeman University (FHU) accounting students have been awarded a total of $7,750 in scholarships from the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA), the highest number of recipients in a single year for FHU. These awards, representing 40% of those given within the West Tennessee chapter’s jurisdiction, include the district’s top honor presented to BBA/MBA accounting student Elizabeth McKeeby.

This year’s event will feature a performance by award-winning country group Shenandoah and a conversation with legendary star Clint Black. The Dr. Bobby Bush Endowed Chair for Excellence in Business commemorates Bush’s distinguished 25-year tenure (1976-2001) as a professor of business at the university.

A New Era Begins: FHU’s Loyd Auditorium to Reopen as the David Thomas Dryden Auditorium

Henderson, Tennessee – (Aug. 9, 2024) – At the heart of Freed-Hardeman University’s campus, a 48-year-old auditorium is set to receive not only a new life but also a new name. Previously known as Loyd Auditorium, the beloved venue will officially become the David Thomas Dryden Auditorium when it reopens in 2025. The building is currently undergoing major renovations made possible by gifts from many FHU alumni including the Dryden family.
