Growing up right down the road from FHU, Anna Marie Wyatt did not want to come to FHU, but after experiencing the welcoming nature of the university, her mind was quickly changed. As her time at FHU progressed, her once simple doodles in her notebook have inspired her to make a career out of her talents.
Your Gifts: His Glory – Keith Mattix
Keith Mattix is a Computer Science major with a passion for using artificial intelligence for social good. He has seen how it can be used to aid hurricane relief efforts and has worked to create his own artificial intelligence network through our a.i. course on campus. He continues his work and research, so that one day people can use if to further God’s kingdom by helping those in need.

FHU Bible student Thomas Yukich desires to become a pulpit minister. Yukich originally chose FHU because of its small class sizes but has become grateful for relationships built both inside and out of the classroom leading to internship opportunities.
Your Gifts: His Glory – Sarah Johnson
Sarah Johnson, an FHU Bible and interactive digital design student, is the daughter of a former FHU missionary-in-residence. Being raised in a missionary family, Johnson has used her life experiences to help her grow academically at Freed-Hardeman by writing and participating in University Scholars’ Day, a campus-wide celebration of scholarship and academic achievement.

FHU Accounting Students Awarded Scholarships by the Tennessee Society of CPAs
Henderson, Tennessee – (Aug. 20, 2024) – Six Freed-Hardeman University (FHU) accounting students have been awarded a total of $7,750 in scholarships from the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA), the highest number of recipients in a single year for FHU. These awards, representing 40% of those given within the West Tennessee chapter’s jurisdiction, include the district’s top honor presented to BBA/MBA accounting student Elizabeth McKeeby.
Country Legends Shenandoah and Clint Black to Headline The Celebration at the Ryman: FHU’s 60th Anniversary of the Benefit Dinner
Henderson, Tennessee – (Aug. 16, 2024) – In honor of the landmark 60th anniversary of the FHU Benefit Dinner, supporters of Freed-Hardeman University are invited to join a very special celebration at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee, Thursday, January 16, 2025. This year’s event will feature a performance by award-winning country group Shenandoah and a conversation with legendary star Clint Black. Black will also perform a short acoustic set for attendees.
FHU Establishes Endowed Chair for Excellence in Business in Honor of Late Professor
Henderson, Tennessee — (Aug. 15, 2024) — Freed-Hardeman University is honoring the legacy of a long-serving member of its College of Business faculty by establishing an endowed chair in his name. The Dr. Bobby Bush Endowed Chair for Excellence in Business commemorates Bush’s distinguished 25-year tenure (1976-2001) as a professor of business at the university.
