Academic Quality

How do you identify a school that meets your standard of excellence? One way is to look at the educational experience you are likely to have. You want quality instruction in a setting that optimizes personal attention. In other words, small classes taught by credentialed, qualified professors. Another way is to look at the graduates already produced by the school,  acceptance into professional and graduate schools and job placement.

Take a closer look at Freed-Hardeman University. We believe you will discover a school that offers exceptional academic quality from a consistently Christian perspective.

Retaining Students

Retention rates indicate the percentage of a school’s undergraduate full-time students who continue at that school the next year. For example, a student who studies full-time in the fall semester and returns for the next fall semester is counted in this rate. At FHU, most of the folks you meet will return for their second year.

  • A third indicator of academic quality is the credentials of the faculty. FHU professors are highly credentialed with more than three-fourth of them having earned terminal degrees and, in many cases, additional professional certifications.

  • Of course, you want a school that offers the curriculum best suited to your talents and ambitions. FHU offers six baccalaureate degrees, 15 pre-professional programs, 38 undergraduate majors and 58 undergraduate major plans of study.

  • Many graduates seek further education after obtaining their baccalaureate degrees. FHU has an excellent placement rate in graduate and professional schools. The average job placement rate is 89%.
